Mary, Woman of Promise
Dear Friends and Members,
Holy Trinity’s tradition is to observe Mary, Mother of Our Lord, on the Sunday closest to August 15. This wonderful day lifts up Mary, the Mother of God and Theotokos.
Mary is often called the first disciple as she bore the Word made flesh in the world. While many Lutherans are often surprised to hear of Mary lifted up at worship, we should not be surprised. She was the pioneer of our faith, ever faithful to God’s plan in the world as strange as the calling may have seemed to her.
I invite you to give prayerful thought to the Gospel reading for the day, Luke 1: 46-55.
Join us on this joyous day as we give thanks for one who, though a lowly servant, was used by God to accomplish great things.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Wilbert Miller

In Search of a Room
The sister of our preacher on “Consecration Sunday” is looking for a room/apartment to rent/share for the next academic year in NYC. She will be attending a year long program in fabric design. She is a highly acclaimed children’s book illustrator, mother of two daughters — one out of college, the other in college. If you have a room or apartment or know someone who might, please be in touch with Pastor Miller.
