The Wonderful Tradition of Lessons & Carols
This Sunday – December 17
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
This Sunday, December 17, is the Third Sunday of Advent. I encourage you to be present at Sunday morning Mass as we watch for Christ’s presence in our midst.
Also, join the wonderful tradition of Lessons and Carols at 5 p.m. What a thrill to gather in a very crowded church to hear once again the beautiful stories of the Christmas season, to sing carols, and to listen to the stunning music of the Holy Trinity Choir. (Last Sunday, 331 people were present at Vespers!)
I invite you to listen to the new Vespers Advent/Christmas podcast by our Cantor Donald Meineke – I hope you enjoy and make sure to share with as many friends and family as possible.
These are such thrilling days at Holy Trinity and nothing could be more thrilling than to see Christ come into our midst in the simple gifts of words and bread and wine.
Do join us!
Blessings to you during these days of Advent,
Pastor Wilbert S. Miller
Take 40 People to Lunch
Take 40 people to lunch for Christmas…This Saturday afternoon ministry provides warm meals in Holy Trinity’s Community Room for 40-50 people living in SRO hotels, on the streets, and in other situations in our community. As a Christmas gift to someone you love, make a gift in their honor of any amount ($5 or $10,000) so we can continue this ministry. Make your check to “Holy Trinity Lutheran Church” with memo line “Saturday Meal.”
2018 Lenten Booklet
Pick Your Text This Week!
Holy Trinity members and friends are creating the 2018 Lenten booklet based on Saint Mark’s Passion. You are invited to prepare a reflection, poem, or art work for inclusion in the booklet. If you did not have an opportunity to sign up for a passage last Sunday, please see Kim Suttell this Sunday.
