Holy Trinity Notes from Pastor Miller
Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,
There is so much occurring at Holy Trinity these days and in upcoming weeks and so much for which to thank God. Please, please read this email thoroughly so you are apprised of all that is happening.
I think you know that there is a lot of excitement at Holy Trinity these days! The year end reports at Tuesday evening’s church council meeting were astonishing.
• Lynne Richards, our treasurer, reported that we ended the year with a general fund balance of $45,222! This is incredible news and we thank you for your generosity. What a joy to end the year with such a large, positive cash flow.
• 51 pleges have been made to our 2017 ministry totaling $218,874; this is up 66% from last year, $80,124 more….Thank you to all who have made commitments to our ministry in this way.
• Worship attendance in 2016 was up by 10%.
I am delighted by your commitment, generosity in giving, and faithful at worship and am thrilled with what the future holds in Christ’s name at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity.
Blessings during these days of Epiphany and happy New Year.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Wilbert S. Miller

You are invited to offer daily devotional writings (150-175 words) and poems, art, and photography for the first Holy Trinity Lenten devotional booklet. We will meet this Sunday, January 15, immediately after Mass, to talk about this project. In order to accomplish this vision, we need at least twenty-three people to make two offerings. We will use readings from the Passion according to Saint Matthew as our biblical texts. Please attend this meeting for more information–we need your creativity and faithfulness to achieve this important project.

Please Support Holy Trinity’s Women’s Shelter
Holy Trinity’s Women’s Shelter has completed its second week of operation! This iministry, supported chiefly by Holy Trinity, occurs Tuesday-Thursday evenings; up to twelve homeless women sleep, eat, and relax in our parish hall.
The Shelter is seeking volunteers to help cook a meal once a week or once a month; sort clothing; assist with other necessary activities. If interested, please call shelter-coordinator Michele deCoteau (347-844-1836) or email her (Mjdblessedalways@gmail.com).
Our shelter also needs hangers (for donated clothing), toiletries, gently used clothing, new socks and new undergarments (drop off at the office).
