Holy Trinity Notes from Pastor Miller

Dear Members and Friends of Holy Trinity,

What a splendid Epiphany season we are having!

Special thanks to all who braved high winds and pouring rain to attend the benefit concert on Monday, January 23, in support of Holy Trinity’s Women’s Shelter.  $3100 was raised–thank you for your generosity!  Thank you, as well, to all the musicians who volunteered their breathtaking gifts where music and compassion for God’s most vulnerable intersected.  And a special note of gratitude to Joe Chappel for organizing this magical evening.

This coming Sunday, immediately after Mass, we will gather for a potluck supper in the community room.  Bring your favorite dish!  At 3 p.m., for those who wish, we will attend Martin Scorcese’s movie, “Silence,” two blocks from the church.  Tickets are $16 and $13 for seniors (if you would like to order a ticket in advance, call the church office).

On Thursday evening, February 2, we will celebrate Candlemas/ the Presentation of Our Lord.  This special midweek Mass with beautiful music from Holy Trinity’s musicians and instrumentalists will be a special way to celebrate this important day in the life of the church (please note: there will be no Wednesday evening Mass this week).

Finally, I am delighted to announce that the Children’s Sunday School completed its second week.  Sunday School for children from 3-9  years old meets every Sunday morning, 10-10:50 a.m.  Please bring your children.

These are exciting days at Holy Trinity.

Yours in Christ,
Pastor Wilbert Miller
