Thoughts from Pastor Miller

My Dear Brothers and Sisters  in Christ,

We have begun our Holy Week journey.  You are in my prayers these days as, together, we walk under the shadow of the cross toward the empty tomb.  My deepest prayer is that you will recognize God’s great love for you in the gifts of Word and Sacrament.

Join your brothers and sisters in Christ on Maundy Thursday (7 pm), Good Friday (12:15 pm & 7 pm), Easter Vigil (7 pm), and Easter morning (11 am).

If  you have never attended these liturgies, make a point to do so this year.  Stand in wonder at God’s love for you and support your brothers and sisters in Christ in this wondrous time.

I would like to thank all those who have contributed to Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service.  So far, $4,285 have been offered to this ministry that supports God’s blessed wanderers as they seek  an oasis of peace and security.  It is not too late to make a sacrificial offering to this astonishing work of our Lutheran church  that, for more than seventy years, has supported those seeking safety.

Make these days ones of awe.  Pause and read your Bible and devotional booklet (“O Lord, Throughout These Forty Days…”); sit quietly and pray; attend the services of Holy Week; most importantly, know God’s love for you and the world.

All  God’s blessings,
Pastor Wilbert Miller
