The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity will celebrate the installation of the Reverend Timothy Weisman in a series of events on September 18 and 19, 2021. Installation is the rite in which an ordained person is publicly placed into their role as the pastor serving a specific congregation. Pastor Weisman will become the 15th installed pastor in Holy Trinity's 153-year history.
The principal gathering is a Festival Eucharist with Installation on Sunday, Sunday 19 at 5:00 p.m. The Reverend Stephanie Kershner, Pastor of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Manchester CT will preach, and the Reverend Paul Egensteiner, Bishop of the Metropolitan New York Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, will lead the Reverend Weisman in the renewal of his ordination vows as he also celebrates the tenth anniversary of his ordination.
The Festival Eucharist will feature music for organ, choir, and brass, including a new commission for the occasion by New York composer Buck McDaniel.

*denotes events in which proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required
With the COVID-19 Delta variant on our minds, and out of love for one another and our guests joining us for the installation, Holy Trinity is requiring proof of vaccination in order to participate in these events. We feel that this aligns us with current city guidelines regarding indoor events.
If you were vaccinated anywhere in New York State, you can use the Excelsior Pass to present your vaccination status using your phone. You can also use the NYC COVID Safe App (Android | iOS) to keep a copy of your COVID-19 vaccination card, regardless of where you were vaccinated. In addition, your original COVID-19 vaccination card or a photograph of the same is also acceptable.
In addition, the CDC and the NYS Department of Health have updated their guidance to advise wearing a mask indoors if you live in a place with substantial or high coronavirus transmission. (The guidance for people who are unvaccinated remains the same: always mask up indoors in public places.) Despite high levels of vaccination in Manhattan, we are nevertheless located in a region marked by substantial transmission. With this guidance in mind, we are urging attendees to wear a mask during events when not eating.
