Do we have to be Lutheran to have our wedding here?
No. Holy Trinity celebrates marriage as God's gift regardless of denominational affiliation, whether Lutheran, Episcopal, or Roman Catholic, among many others. We also celebrate interfaith marriages at Holy Trinity, joining together persons of the Christian faith and another faith tradition.
Do you marry same-sex and queer couples?
Absolutely. Holy Trinity has been a Reconciling in Christ congregation since 1999 and continues today advocating for the full welcome, inclusion, and equity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual/aromantic (LGBTQIA+) people in all aspects of the life of the church, including marriage.
Who can officiate our wedding?
The Reverend Timothy Weisman, who serves as pastor at Holy Trinity, officiates all weddings at the church; that said, if you have a friend or loved one who is an ordained minister and would like her to participate in your ceremony, or if you desire a co-officiant from another faith tradition, please contact us.
Will we have premarital counseling?
Pastor Tim will meet with you four or five times before your wedding day; not only does this give Pastor Tim an opportunity to get to know you (and vice versa!) but you'll also work together to craft the ceremony. While Pastor Tim wants to hear your story and your hopes for the future, it is not professional counseling.
Can we have our reception at the church?
Yes. Holy Trinity boasts a large, air conditioned Community Room with a commercial kitchen that is available for receptions or rehearsal dinners. Please contact us for more details.
